Use Console on a tablet

A tablet can keep supervisors and operational staff close to work while allowing them to review information and record updates away from a desk.

Select the task first

Identify the exact views and actions the tablet user needs. Test task lists, data entry, document viewing and any production-floor interactions on the tablet model and browser proposed for deployment. Some detailed administration work may remain more comfortable on a larger workstation.

Set up the device

Connect to the approved network and use the access method issued by your organisation. Adjust the orientation and display settings so key information is readable. Where tablets are shared, agree how users sign out and how the device is handed to the next person.

Before wider rollout

Run a complete real task on the device, from finding the work to recording its outcome. Confirm that the team can access the required documents and that the device remains usable in its intended physical environment.
