Plan logistics and journeys

The logistics tools can help a team record movements and plan journeys where those features are enabled. A journey may include multiple legs and associated fares or other costs.

Plan the route

Start with the correct origin and destination. When entering an address, check the complete location and postcode before using a proposed route. For a train leg, confirm the selected stations and the direction of travel. If a return journey is needed, review the reverse legs as well as the outbound journey.

Review costs and timing

Check the cost of each leg, applicable fares and additional fees. Verify the date, travel method and people or work associated with the journey. A saved plan is a planning record; follow your team's confirmation process before treating the trip as authorised.

Keep the record usable

Where available, save the route document to the appropriate document area and link it to the relevant work. If the journey changes, update the planned legs and costs before using its totals in financial planning.

Tip: A return trip can be represented as one journey with outbound and return legs; check the full itinerary before confirming its total.
